Iheir performance includes demonstrations ballet and physical strength. MARLENE BRYANT Staff Writer Who has been horsing around at Fresno State lately? On .Sept. 8 and 9. the Lipizzaner Stallions will be featured at the Animal Pavilion on campus beginning at 7:30 pm. Students with proper student Identification, will be admitted for $11.00; adults-$13.50; and children-$10.00. Tickets will be on sale at the door. "The Lipizzaner Stal¬ lions were first made famous by the Walt Disney movie entitled •Miracle of the White Stallion.' TO 12:00 NOON UNIVERSITY STUDENT UNION BALCONY n. "Thirteen riders and horses will be featured. "These horses were American bred and trained. "They tour the country all year long. "Baroque music will be played while the riders wear military dress reminiscent of the thir¬ teenth-century Spanish riding school," said "Baroque music will be played while the riders wear military dress reminiscent ofthe thirteenth- century Spanish riding school." Charles Smallwood. supervisor of the Student Horse Center. Smallwood commented that the audience will be amazed by the horses as they perform to the music, different from anything anyone has ever seen before. The group will perform upper level dressage movements, natural gaits in every speed, and spectacular Grand Perix movements. When asked why the performance was taking place on campus. Smallwood remarked that the performance is a fund-raiser for the Stu¬ dent Horse Center. The money from this first annual event will go toward improvement costs. "Its a very fun, exciting, instructional, interesting opportunity to see some¬ thing that you have never seen before." he said. Lipizzaner Stable Mas¬ ter. Michael Jaeger, encourages people to come out and watch the show because "these stallions are of a limited breed. "These horses come from the Renaissance period and can do a lot more than the modern breed of horse can."
