The rich of America are hogging the whole pie. '• j ■N. Your solution to this problem is very- simple "... to succeed ybuVe got to put In the effort." That's an extremely my¬ opic way of thinking In order to solve major problems such as racism, clas- sism, sexism, and other forms of dis¬ crimination which mainly stem from In¬ equitable distribution of wealth and wage exploitation. For years people of color and poor Whites have worked extremely hard, putting in every "effort* In working just to survive. In fa ct. the working class of America are the backbone of this coun¬ try. How do you think that lemon, or¬ ange, grape, or head of lettuce got in your refrigerator? They dldn'tjust grow in there or roll in. And I know you didn't get your hands dirty picking them like the Chlcanos. How do you think that leather back¬ pack, those penny loafers, argyie socks, or designer Jeans got on your unappre- ciative body? I hope you don't believe Santa's elves made them. And you can't tell me no "effort" went Into making those little necessities. " Truth is, no matter how much faster a Chicano picks' an orange, or how much harder a Native American prunes ajree. or how much quicker an African American or Asian American sews a pair of Jeans, or how much harder a poor White worksatlaylng bricks, more "effort" is not going to make things better for the poor. Moreover, the working class are constantly being exposed to extreme temperature variations due to lack of heating or air conditioning, deadly -chemicals, physically deteriorating labor, and factory machines that chop off their fingers.. The harder the poor people of color and poor Whites work, the .more they're taken advantage of, and the shorter their life span. In your concluding statement you say "Do something that will benefit humanity. Then maybe people will look up to you." And yes, Anna Daza, I agree with you. again. If you do something that will benefit "jjie power* (your humanity), the owners of production, exploiters, racists, and power elites will look up to you. But. unlike you, I want to do something that will benefit the real humanity of this country, the working class, i don't want to help make the rich richer. v I want the poor people of this country to have economic, political, and social equality and that's why I spend my time and energy fighting for the poor. Unlike you, I'm not trying to win a popularity contest with Bush or Trump. So, Anna Daza, goabout your business. Continue* to let people of color and poor Whites be^ exploited, oppressed, and denied .free¬ doms. Turn a deaf ear to the poor that are crying In the streets. Just^walk around them, better yet, why dont to you walk on them so the rich (the power) will accept you and respect you even more. P.S. Fight "the power."
