It is hard to tell whether Perot's reentry into the campaign was a result of guilt or actual disgust with Clinton and Bush'seconomic plans. My guess is that he truly cares about the country, but he jumped back into the fray because he could not handle being called a quitter. It is doubtful that Perot's de¬ clared candidacy will suddenly spark discussion of economic is¬ sues or the deficit, especially since most polls show his support at less ■ than 10 percent What he will do is provide more fodder for Dana Caryey on Satur¬ day Night Live and probably take away a good n um bcr of votes from Clinton. So if you mink being Perot- choice will send a message to career politicians in Washington, f think again. The only thing sent to them will be the choice of the next president when no candidate receives enough electoral votes to win.
