•3 Octodcr 26,1992 The Daily Collegian Classical Society presents Twenty colleges earn distinction Of Ancient World lecture series serving the worst food in the country By Rosaiba Beltran Staff Wrrter Beginning Oct 26 the Classi¬ cal Society will present its fifth an¬ nual .Ancient World Lecture Se¬ ries. According to Dr. Pamela Vaughn of the department of for¬ eign languages, the series will con¬ tinue through Oct 30. Tonight the Classical Society will present the play "Caesar at the Rubicon" at 7:00 p.m. in the up¬ stairs cafeteria, room 200. The play deals with the historical facts of Caesar's decision to cross the Rubicon River. The Rubicon river served as the boundary between Roman territory and non-ROman territory. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Dr. Eric H. Cline will present "Multicultu- ralism in Antiquity: Egyptian in¬ fluences Upon Greece?" at 8:00 p.m. in the upstairs cafeteria. Cline is an archaeologist spe¬ cializing in Egyptian and Near Eastern history. He will speak on recently discovered information about Egyptian relations with Greece. On Friday, Oct. 30, Dr. Robert Kallet-Marx will present 'The Ideas of March: lis Forgotten Background" at 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs cafeteria. Kallet-Marx is a specialist in Roman history and his lecture takes a different approach regarding Julius Caesar's death.
