Both youths who are between the ages of 16 and 17, have been prevknAry arrested by other agen¬ cies for other charges, according to O'Reilly. Both youths left the recreation hall when CSUF campus police arrived. The youth with the cue stick went toward the fountain to talk with some friends before campus police officers chased him and apprehended him, according to Ritz. Both youths were eventually apprehended behind the cafete¬ ria, Recreation Center Manager Robbie Tanaka said. Ritz said he believed one of the ju¬ veniles was a member of a local gang, but O'Reilly said he had no knowledge of gang involvement in the fight Saturday night. Ritz also said the fight was over a dispute that happened more than a year ago bet ween the two youths. The two had gotten in to a fight at a party about a year ago," Ritz said One of the youths was playing pool with some friends at the nearest pool table to the bowling alley desk when the fight began, Ritz said. Ritz said a problem exists with youths from local high schools coming to the recreation center and vandalizing the games. -Re¬ cently some video games and some Fboseball games have been damaged when a majority of the clientele in the recreation center were high school students. Tanaka said no games have been vandalized since school started. The fight on Saturday night was the first fight in the recreation center this semester. Ritz and other recreation cen¬ ter employees said they were concerned with the growing "gang problem" in the recreation center. "Something has to be done, because the gangs are getting worse here," Ritz said, Both youths' cases are pend¬ ing, O'Reilly said. VINTAGE DAYS from page 1 lowing Vintage Days.
