Granger said the tapes were developed in response to many people's reluctance to discuss their problems with counselors, often for fear of being identified or blamed. He said much of the information on the tapes is for everyday, com¬ mon problems as well as those of a more serious nature. The people calling may not always be the ones with the prob¬ lem—it could be parents, teach¬ ers, coun selors, family members— anyone who is concerned about someone they care about," Granger said.
