This is a live interview with one of the first folk singers and recording stars of the Southwest. Lidia Mendoza, also known as "La Cancionera de los Pobres" (The Songstress of the Poor) and "La Alondra de la Frontera" (The Meadowlark of the Border) is a groundbreaker and one of the top Mexican American musicians of this century.
