Michelle DenBeste named dean ofCollege of Social Sciences
Dr. Michelle DenBeste, who served in the interim role for the past twoyears, was named dean of the College of Social Sciences.
DenBeste is an historian who taught history at Fresno State since 2000until she became interim dean in 2015. Working collaboratively withfaculty, sta and students, she spent the past two years enhancing thecollege culture and expanding new opportunities.
During DenBeste’s tenure as interim dean, the college launched a newgeography and city and regional planning program, a more robustAmerican Indian studies program, an Institute for Leadership and PublicPolicy and revived the Fresno State Gospel Choir.
