The Denver Post has carried on a continuous campaign
of distorting the truth in its effort to foster hatred
of evacuees*
Its most recent effort is.a cartoon picture' of a
toothy Japanese family sitting around a dinner table
laden with plenty, reading the newspaper story of the
execution of American flyers who bombed. Tokyo.
Outside the window is shown a "television' scene in
Japan*' picturing the Nipponese soldiers bayoneting the
prisoners "Of war.

alien internment came but-the manner in which it is
presented leaves no doubt that it is the relocation centers "they are depicting.
With- ' the 'WRA and other government aaencies urging
the evacuees to resettle in normal community life In
order to fill the manpower shortage, Post's cartoon is
calculated to hinder this movement.
Arousing public sentiment by sensational .propaganda
so that resettlement endangers the evacuees is an effort against the government policy of na tional ■' unity--
hut if heirs-to sell-the 'caper.

Bradford Smith, OWI representative from Washington,
was here last week to obtain first-hand information
of the center to be used
in compiling various foreign language releases for
