Dear Leon:
1 always enjoy articles in the Bee about people who I have known for a long time
and, particularly those who have been dedicated to the community.
My first contact with the Valley Foundry, was meeting and knowing Mr. and Mrs.
Keithly, which I believe was about 1932 or 33, and on or about that time, I
met you and we both can remember how hard it was and how all of us were
struggling to make a living. It didn't seem to make any difference what business a person was in, everyone was finding it difficult to show progress.
I just celebrated my 50th Nylic anniversary on January 3rd, and a friend of mine
who had been in his business for 50 years, were visiting and we were talking
about how tough it was in the early 30's, but we did agree that everyone has done
very well in our business over a 50 year period, by being good, honest and dedicated to the work. That seems to be one of the prices of success.
You have certainly become one of the most successful in our community and every
where I go if your name comes up, everyone has nothing but praise and good things
to say about you. You have, without a doubt, given as much time and effort to
the community as anyone I know. I am sure that this has enriched your life
and I know how proud Mrs. Peters must be of you. By the way, George and Aram
Apregan are my clients and I have taken care of their insurance for a long time.
I am very fond of both of them.
Leon, I sincerely hope that you and Mrs. Peters will have many more happy uears
together. You are a fine person and it pleases me to be one of your friends.
