1959-60 UUno'd Our 1959-60 ASB President—more commonly referred to as EARL WHITFIELD— will be remembered for his rational thinking, able leadership and quick acting at FSC. Earl, a history major with a math minor, served as Men's Legislative Commissioner and was Veterans' Club President In 1958-59. He was also a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and Blue Key. clOAo A math major and physics minor, PATRICIA BECKMAN, started her freshman year off right when she was awarded the Freshman Physics Award. She was a member of WRA and Physics Club President during her senior year. Elected to Phi Kappa Phi, she held the office of vice-president, and was a member of the Math Club and gained a Phi Beta Kappa Scholarship for graduate study. KARLA LEE, a transfer from Whittier College, served as Service for International Students Committee Chairman during her junior and senior years. She was also a member of the College Y, Transfer Women's Organization, Cosmopolitan Club, a Cappella Choir, and the Methodists Students Association. Karla, a social welfare major, was a resident advisor at Baker Hall. MERLE HALL, this year's Men's Legislative Commissioner, transferred from the College of Sequoias where he was Student Body President and a member of the Ski Club and scholarship society. While majoring in business administration at FSC, Merle became a member of the Student Council, Alpha Kappa Psi, and the Christian Science Organization. He was also selected for Blue Key membership. TOM EMERY was Editor-in-Chief of The Collegian his senior year and gained membership in Alpha Phi Gamma, honorary journalism fraternity, his sophomore year. As a journalism major and an English minor, he rounded out his four years with membership in Blue Key, Air Force ROTC and the baseball team. Tom also served on college boards and was a member of Student Council and the Student Executive Committee. Listing child development as her major, DEANNA BALL proceeded into campus life as a member of SWAG, Freshmen Women's Luncheon Club, and the Election Comm. In her sophomore year she was class secretary, a member of SSS and Angels' Flight. A Delta Gamma member, she served as corresponding secretary and president. She was also named Military Ball Sweetheart, a Campus Queen attendant and junior class secretary. In her senior year she was Student Body Secretary and in Tokalon.
