Dreamy music fit in with the
"Moonlight and Mist" themed ball.

Fresno State's social set, casting aside hula hoops and
propeller beanies, filled the Fresno Memorial Auditorium
the night of December 4 for the annual and the august
Queen's Ball.
The crowning of the 1959-60 Campus Qeen Karlene
Lowe by retiring 1958-59 Campus Queen Toni Blair
highlighted the "Moonlight and Mist" themed ball.
Gwen Rogers was the Queen's first attendant and Carol
Gregg, Dixie O'Brian and Donna Love completed the
royal court.
Co-chairmen of the traditional "backwards" formal
affair were Betty Randell and Alice Grusdat.
Johnny Matesso's 12 piece orchestra provided the music
for the blue, white, and silver decorated ball. A silhouette of a couple dancing was cast upon a screen located
on the stage with two large angel hair foundations on
either side. A revolving mirrored ball in the middle of
the ceiling flashed beams of colored light throughout the
auditorium.
"Toni," our 1958-59 Campus Queen
graciously passes the crown on to Karlene.

The blue, white and silver
fringes held by "daisy chain"
girls from SWAG and SSS provided the "red carpet" for FSC
royalty.
