% s. e ^Associated Student jDody t^resident EARL WHITFIELD Student Body President cA <5 *tB t^reditf/ent'^ ^Tl^e^^aae This year has been an outstanding year of change and progress at Fresno State College. With the addition of our residence halls we have graduated from a strictly commuter campus to a college community. As we entered the new decade, the campus abounded with construction projects which served as a symbol of the progress of which we have been a part. Our growth has not been restricted to physical facilities alone, but has included an ever expanding academic program. As the college has expended and matured so has the scope and purpose of student government. Each year we have progressively become more involved in local community and state affairs as our campus program continued to grow and adjust to new conditions. By the end of this decade Fresno will double in size and should include a student union to serve as a center of campus activities and student government. All of us can remember with pride that he had a part in laying the foundation for this growth. It has been my sincere pleasure to have served in student government during a part of this period. I hope that I have, in some measure, been able to repay you for your confidence in me. For the invaluable assistance I have received from the other student body officers, class officers, committee chairmen and members, and members of the Student Council and Executive Committee I am much indebted. For myself and all the members of your student government I wish to express appreciation for the opportunity you gave me. The "Bald Eagle" nobly fought the fee and added a degree of 29
