^Activities in Sound" June Bottorff, heard as Nancy; Tom Barnes, the voice of Dick Tracy; and Phil Freer, known to listeners as Grampa Phil broadcast FSC's "Comics of the Air" on Sunday mornings. ^adi FSC's radio and television majors spent most of the year getting ready for their move to this ccnpus, and the speech arts building. They also spent time working on weekly radio news shows and a television news show. The valley's longest continuous radio program, the comic section of the air, also was a student project. j-orensic Squad FORSENIC SQUAD, First row, I to r—Mary Hilton, Lita Griffey, Sonja Dye, Bernice Walls, Elaine Muzio, Carole Dugan. Second row—Ken Burke, Bill Donaghy, Bes Lewis, Marion Hannah, Louis Cockerham— coach. Third row—Mervin Whealy, John Goss, Charles Patton, Arthur Allen. These four speakers could very well be any four comic strip characters; for instance—Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, and Pigpen of the "Peanuts" series. The fellow in the plaid shirt is Hal Williams. The Fresno State Forensic Squad, coached by Louis W. Cockerham, is divided into two groups: debate teams and symposium teams. Although both are organized for debating they differ in their specific purposes. The debate teams, organized for competition, participated in intercollegiate tournaments throughout the West. Squad members traveled by car, train and airplane to represent FSC at events hosted in Texas, Oregon, Nevada hosted in Texas, Oregon, Nevada and California. The symposium teams toured the San Joaquin Valley during the spring semester appearing at high schools and service clubs attempting through organized debate to bring to light all views of various current controversies. !
