Collegian Fall editor, Kathy Peters, elected last spring by the Board of Publications, was the first in Fresno State College's history to edit a daily student paper. This was made possible by modern offset printing processes. Before stories are assigned the newspaper must be planned out daily. Kathy and day editor, Gary Washburn, go over details. To keep an article informative and interesting, reporter, Jim Tucker, interviews Associate Dean of Activities, Gordon Wilson. After gathering the.data, it is organized so that the meaning of the article is clear to the reader. Organizing information is Bryn Highfill. Reporters type up articles in time to meet deadlines. Before each edition articles are checked for correctness by the copy desk. In the "slot" is Terry Cress, assisted by staffers Darlene Samuelson, Norma Wallace, Patty Opdyke, Jan Williams, and Jim Tucker. 46
