During the summer, Glenn S. Dumke, Chancellor of the California State colleges, approved a vast reorganization of Fresno State
College along university lines. He also approved the appointment of two new vice
presidents.
Under the new plan the divisional structure
was replaced by six academic schools and one
division. The new position of Academic Vice
President is being filled by Dr. Dallas A.
Tueller and Dr. Harold Walker was appointed Executive Vice President.

The deans of the six new academic schools
and one division were appointed for one year
terms. Their principal task in this transition
year is to with their faculties work out the
organizational structure of their respective
schools.
The new deans and the school they head are:
School of Agriculture, Lloyd Dowler; School
of Arts and Sciences, Herbert H. Wheaton;
School of Business, McKee Fisk; School of
Education, Richard Sparks; School of Engineering, Thomas H. Evans; School of Graduate Studies, Phyllis W. Watts; and Thomas
Brigham, head of the division of social work.
A permanent dean will take office at the beginning of the university plan's second year.
