The "dynamics of independence," the subject of the talk given by President Frederic
W. Ness, brought forth the explanation of
a new academic structure for Fresno State
College. At the traditional fall convocation, Dr. Ness expressed the hope that the
separation of the college into semi-autonomous schools would help each school to
further its own areas of academic interest,
as well as to advance the growth of the
college within the state college system.
