66 Emerging Patterns In Mathematics" Besides providing programs and speakers for students and faculty, the education department conducts a placement bureau for prospective teachers. Throughout the spring semester the bureau schedules school administrators to visit on campus and interview June graduates. Through these interviews the students are able to inquire about various school districts and negotiate for contracts. Also during the year the education department was helping to coordinate the Sudan Project. Professor Robert Harrison arranged to have teachers from the Sudan come to Fresno State to learn teaching methods which they could apply in their own classrooms. The possibility of having more Sudanese instructors visit the campus was discussed and much favorable comment was received on the idea. Miss Elaine Mason conducts the lecture portion of the P.E. 152, a class concerned with teaching physical education in the elementary school. ;;rV;M Dr. Kenneth Meeks, Campus Coordinator of the Sudan Project, is shown dictating a letter to his secretary. MM H I 1 ¥-' Mrs. Bonnie Barrett, student teacher at the Lab School, offers information to three sixth grade girls. 21
