/^ Ag Mechanics Hold Contest William Detar Sponsor Clarence Jensen Sponsor »•«> Ail James Aiken Richard Craig Adjusting Anderson, the seed plates on a planter are Corky Larry Schieler, Tom Gist and Frank Errea. Participation in the Future Farmers of America Field Day, held on April 28, highlighted the year for the Agriculture Mechanics Club. This specialized organization of aggies was responsible for the judging of tractors, welding, and electrical wiring. The club also sponsored a tool identification contest whereby participants were to identify over one hundred tools used in agricultural operation. Fall semester activities included talks given by a representative of the Rust Cotton Picker Company, and Colin J. Watt, a California safety inspector. Clarence Jensen is the faculty advisor to the club. In the spring, they helped with the California Future Farmers of America Field Day in Fresno. Banquets were held for the fall and spring semester pledge classes. They also sponsored a banquet and picnic for the alumni. Chi Beta Alpha, an organization for agriculture students, was organized in 1941. Dr. Winston Strong is the group adviser. .
