ions V Public relations head for Fresno State College is Channing Manning. His office prepares and sends the story out over the country of Fresno State's activities, its athletics, drama, music and academic accomplishments. In order to circulate information of the activities and educational advantages to be had at FSC, Manning puts out an estimated 250,000 words each year. By press, radio, circulars, and special publications, the public relations office endeavors to create and maintain a widespread interest on the part of the outsider in Fresno State. Stories on the Sierra Summer School, football and other athletic achievements, the West Coast Relays, Spring Swing and other traditional FSC events, have been accorded national recognition through the work of the public relations office. Assisting Manning in publicity work were Helen Damianos, secretary; Kenneth Clifford, Aline Bletcher, Idamae Morris, and Barbara Cramer. S 23
