FRESNO STATE 7 Scoring on the opening play of the game as the result of a 79-yard scoring pass play, the Bulldogs held strong Camp Haan to a 7 to 7 tie. Sherrill Vanlandingham caught the Haaners, a military team from Riverside, fast asleep as he passed to end Jim Molich who CAMP HAAN 7 romped 50 yards to score untouched. The Camp Haan team scored in the third period, but the Bulldogs drove down the field in the closing minutes to the one yard line before being forced to attempt a field goal which failed. WALLEN BOLT P. BROWN FRESNO STATE 26 Scoring two touchdowns in the opening eight minutes of play, the Bulldogs went on from" there to defeat an aerial-minded Santa Barbara State Gaucho team, 26 to 0. Bud Myers, fullback, scored the first tally, followed by another touchdown a few plays later by Sherrill Vanlandingham. SANTA BARBARA STATE 0 Dick Garver, tricky sophomore lightweight, outraced the entire Hilltopper team for the third score, while another sophomore sensation, Mickey Masini, plowed over for the fourth tally. Outstanding were Bud Myers, on pass defense, Bob Burgess, center, and Jack Wallin, guard. 130
