lorn The first drama presentation of the year was Franz Molnar's legend, "Liliom," the story of Budapest's "bad boy" barker who beat his wife, went to the medium place between heaven and hell, was sent back to earth to do his good deed . . . and failed by slapping his own daughter. Norman Katen played the part of Liliom in the title role, with Jane Ross taking the part of Julie, the simple, gracious little girl who became Liliom's wife. Others outstanding in the larger parts were Elaine Ray as Marie, Bonnie Felix as Mrs. Muskat, and Ray Foreman as Ficsur. There were also many others who did well in smaller parts in a cast of about thirty characters. "Liliom" was directed by Joseph King, and was staged by Charles Taylor.
