JF"i -j| m 5^; X ' _2't v v< rjr:.i m ? Coachinq. Staj$. Outstanding personalities of the physical education department are little James W. Bradshaw and huge J. Flint Hanner. "Rabbit" Bradshaw, fiery and energetic, guided a spectacular, if not eminently successful, grid team through the shoal waters of his 1938 schedule, and has higher hopes for next fall's outfit. If the Bulldogs click next season as they did at times this year, they should be successful. Hanner, expansive and astute, brought Fresno its eighth straight Far Western Conference track and field crown. His individual star, following the tracks of Walter Marty, Elroy Robinson, and "Dutch" Warmerdam, was sprinter Tommy Nelson. Stan Borleske, line coach for football, molded one of the finest forward walls in school history, also coaching the basketball and baseball teams. Hal Beatty sponsored frosh basketball, football, boxing, wrestling, and swimming. Earl Wight is the successful head of the department.
