Top Row:—Dollar Line Orchestra, Chaminade Quartette, Brass Ensemble; Center:—Dollar Line Steamship Orchestra Bottom Row:—Saxophone Ensemble, Collegiate Four, Woodwind Ensemble DOLLAR LINE ORCHESTRA—Col well's Collegians, composed of Fresno State College students, who will make their second annual tour around the world with the Dollar Steamship Line. The members, reading left to right are: Pat LaCentra, Bob Colwell, Paul Sheldon, and Lenel Shuck. CHAMINADE QUARTETTE—Activities, 1931-32. Third season with Fresno Players, Short Memorial Home, University Sequoia Club, Mason's, Faculty Tea, United Commercial Traveler's Memorial Service, Progressive Business Girl's Club, Heaton School, Senior Orientation, Banquet for Governor Rolph at Hotel Fresno, Fresno High School P.T.A., Senior Breakfast, Fresno Musical Club Tea at Hotel Californian. BRASS ENSEMBLE—The Fresno State College Symphonic Brass Ensemble under the direction of Howard S. Monger is the first of its kind to be organized. It has an instrumentation of three cornets, three trumpets, tenor and bass trombone. The eight-part harmonizations are special arrangements. SAXOPHONE ENSEMBLE—The Saxophone Ensemble, under the leadership of Arthur Fosrplad, has completed the most active season of its career. This organization has proven to be a very helpful addition to the Band. During the year 1931-32, this group entertained the following organizations: Women's Auxiliary, Rotary Club, American Legion, Twenty-Thirty Club, Hi-Twelve Club, Exchange Club, Optimists Club, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club. DOLLAR LINE STEAMSHIP ORCHESTRA—Through the Panama Canal to New York (two trips) and to the Orient. Visited such countries as Phillipine Islands, China, Japan, Hawaiian Islands, Panama Canal, and Cuba. WOODWIND ENSEMBLE—The Fresno State College Woodwind Ensemble under the direction of Arthur C. Forsblad is composed of the advanced woodwind players of the Band and Orchestra. This organization attempts to most intricate type of music, and is most effective in working out many of the finer affects of concert music. The Woodwind Ensemble has appeared before the Pianoforte Club, and has broadcasted over the Radio Station K.M.J, during music week. COLLEGIATE FOUR—Appearances: Washington's Birthday program at Fresno State College,. Dedication of Washington Grove at Roeding Park, Fresno Churches, and Senior, Junior, and Sophomore orientations.
