HUMOR JTURNEP THE Picture THIS WAY SO^ I WOULDN'T HAFTA WAW. A SAXOPHONE / ,p\y^ The Noon Dance One of the features of College life is the ever popular fad of attending Friday noon dances. There is always the same crowd attending these dances. A nominal fee of ten cents is charged for the privilege of wrestling your way across the floor. This ten cents pays the harpist and the fiddlers three for the heart rending and deep feeling music which they produce. Introductions aren't necessary; they are taboo, as everyone is trying to keep his name a secret. It is a time honored custom to wait until someone is seen having a good time; then everyone rushes upon him and tags him. Defeating As you enter the main entrance you soon encounter the auditorium. By persuasive methods on one of the janitors you may gain admittance and have the treat of your life by listening to Coach Potter's debating squad in action. Benson and Thomas will be wildly gesticulating and shouting. Opposing them will be Coach Potter. The other members gather in the rear of the room and tell stories. After two weeks, Potter announces the team is ready to take on opponents in anything but jui jitsui. Immediately the cry is raised for more publicity and advertising. This results in Sara McCord's slashing the budgets, and the Varsity debates Laton High School on the question "Resolved that 'The Wickersham Report Can't be Wrong' ". Lihrary Anyone connected with the college knows about this secluded haven of life long soul mates. The library now serves as a place to eat lunch, sleep, compose love sonnets, or to meet the light of one's life behind the biological survey department. Don't get the idea that all is not peace and tranquility, because the Royal Ruler Tobin is the head man, and she believes in the policy of non-intervention and in the law of diminishing returns. As a witness the fact that none of the boys go into Miss Tobin's private office any more to shoot craps. The last game resulted in Miss Tobin's cleaning up one dollar and nineteen cents. 197
