* COLLEGE YEAR t The grand celebration is culminated in a hilarious dance given by the Varsity F society at the Californian Hotel Ballroom. Nevada men find it hard to be cheerful, but Fresno State does not let that worry them. Omicron Pi, men's honor fraternity, grants membership to Kenneth Brown, Harold Beatty, and Robert Slaughter. December—1930 December 3—The crime problem invades F.S.C. campus. Stanford is here for debate on the question "Resolved that this house approves methods now being employed by People of Chicago to combat Crime". December 8—Men "go hobo" and cast razors aside. Meanwhile women population must suffer(?) in silence(?) until December 18. December 9—The 1931 Grid Captain is named. Dick White is to be honored one. December 9—Fresno State is to be represented at Winter Sports Carnival at Yosemite. Fay Hibbard, prominent co-ed, is to enter. December 11—More honors are earned by Fresno State. Four Bulldog grid artists are given all-conference berths. Four Cardinal and Blue men (Dick White, Frenchy Bordegary, Frank Friedman and Myron Anderson) have already received honorable mention on the "All-Coast" team. This is putting Fresno State on the map. December 12-13—Campus "abuzz" with activity. The Western Section of the national Alpha Phi Gamma journalistic fraternity is holding its convention here. Confabs, banquets, and an informal dance in the West Assembly is the order of the day. December 12—Winners in Caravan contest announced. Short story, "The Magic Kong" by Fay Hubbard; essay, "The Lost Lenore" by Thomas Ward; poem, "Loneliness" by Louise Caldwell. The training school Rooters' Section
