■4 ADMINISTRATION Cathcart, White ,Wash .Larsen Front Row:—Pettis, Carlton, Slocum, Anderson. Associated Women Students To tell everything A.W.S. has done during the year would be futile; to tell even a part would be a task; to hit the "high spots" is difficult. In order to give a fresh start, the A. W. S. rooms were re-decorated. New hangings were bought, the old furniture was painted, and several pieces of new furniture were added. This re-juvenation at the beginning of the year created a desired attitude. On October 31 and November 1 a convention of representatives from all the four-year colleges and universities of California was held in Fresno. The highlights of this convention were:—a formal dinner and dance at the Hotel Fresno, a luncheon at the Sunnyside Country Club, a cow-camp lunch and rodeo at Fort Millerton, and a banquet at the Hotel Californian. Junior college conferences attended were those at Taft, Sacramento, and Porterville. Delegates to Taft were Edna Bridge and Nell White; to Sacramento, Helen Carlton, Vera Heisinger, Lora Mae Hockett, and Nell White; to Porterville Mildred Andrews, Alice Stephens, Vera Heisinger, Sylvan Mayes, Charlotte Bequette, Howardine Dobson, and Nell White. Christmas dinners were provided for ten needy families of Fresno. The Contact Chairmen for the two semesters were very active. Those who served in this office were Helen Carlton and Elva Allen. Gladys Morris headed the committee which presented two programs' at the Wish-I-Ah Sanitorium above Auberry. A dance was sponsored by the A.W.S. following one of the basket-bali games— the time the A.M.S. didn't give the dance. Evelyn Ross was the chairman of the committee to get dates for men on the visiting teams. Here Fresno state College again scored in its reputation for hospitality. A.W.S. sponsored Chapel Services for the year. The chairmen were Ruth Cathcart and Irene Backer. The social calendar included bridge parties, a reception, a St. Patrick's Day party,' a swimming party, and matinee dances. Hostesses were Eleanor Mattei, Rosemary Brosnahan, Gayle Mendelsohn, and Katherine Merritt. And so, close the portals of another successful and progressive year! I
