ADMINISTRATION Top Row:-—Vanderlip, Beatty, Sheets. Front Row:—Wilson, Safstrom, Appling. Associated Men Students The Associated Men Students began their Fall activities under the presidency of Lawrence Blucher. An increased attendance at regular meetings was brought about due to the inauguration of interesting programs. Blucher, during his term of office, did much toward promoting A. M. S. participation in campus affairs. The A. M. S. Luncheon Club, acting as an administrative body, did much toward the promotion of this program. A. M. S. sponsored dances in honor of visiting conference football and basketball teams. The renovation of the A. M. S. room was undertaken, and many improvements on the campus were brought about through the activity of the Luncheon Club. The climax of the Fall semester activities was the annual Hobo Brawl. This event claimed the largest attendance of any previous affair of its type. Faculty members and men students in a very enjoyable social evening. The usual struggle for food was in evidence as the evening came to a close. Hordes of ravenous individuals descended on the food and carried it off to devoured it at leasure. The election of Art Safstrom to the presidency in the Spring semester marked a continuation of Blucher policies. Through his efforts the A. M. S. Luncheon Club was organized into the A. M. S. Service Club and continued in the promotion of campus activities. The attendance at regular meetings was further increased through varied programs arranged by Vice-President Al. Appling. On May 27the members of A. M. S. journeyed to Kearney Park where they enjoyed an afternoon of interorganization sports. A. M. S. closed its activities for the year by sponsoring an open school dance in the West Court. A. M. S. Activities have been conductive to the progress of State. The officers for the year were:First Semester—Lawrence Blucher, president; Hal Beatty, vice-president; Loran Vanderlip, secretary; George Sykes, chairman reception committee; Virl Murphy, sergeant-at-arms; Garth Scruggs, yell leader. Second Semester—Arthur Safstrom, president; Al Appling, vice-president; Gordon Wilson, secretary; Glenn Sheets, chairman reception committee; Floyd Probasco, sergeant-at-arms; Frank Schofield, yell leader.
