ASSOCIA TED STUDENTS SMALE RADKA NIETO The most important scholastic gain for Fresno State in many years was made this fall when formal notification was received by President Frank W. Thomas of the acceptance of the college for the approved list of liberal arts colleges of the Association of American Universities. This approval means that Fresno State students will receive full credit at any university or professional school in America without further investigation as to college standing. To stimulate interest in student body assemblies, spring semester vice- president Leo Nieto instituted a new plan; a contest was held for a number of weeks during which all campus organizations were given the opportunity to compete for cash prizes by staging assembly programs. A new student group, the Inter-Club Council, was formed as a governing body for campus clubs, formerly represented only in Student Council. Similar in form to the Interfraternity Council and Pan-Hellenic League, the new organization will draw up rules and laws governing club activities.
