ASSOCIATED WOMEN STUDENTS ■pIFTEEN years of service to Fresno State College . . . that is one of the many virtues of the Associated Women Students, members of the International Associated Students. The AWS is rather unique in its membership requirements; the only qualification for a prospective member is that she be a girl. Meetings are held weekly and are presided over by the AWS president. Voting members include one representative from each campus organization that includes women in its membership. Under the direction of President Bernice'Bickner, the AWS started the year off by helping Kappa Phrateres with its bi-annual "Big Sister" program to aid freshman girls in finding their way about the college. And to further help the frosh orient themselves, the service group published the COED CODE, a book of information to new girl students. Other AWS projects throughout the year included the Queen's Tea, Queen's Ball, decorating a children's ward in a local hospital and distributing Christmas gifts, the spring formal and a dinner for the newly elected AWS president, to which all former presidents were invited. Bernice Bickner, AWS President. "This should get a rise." Left to right, Nadine N. Nichols, secretary; Pat Henry, vice-president; Bernice Bickner, president; and Maryanne Wold, treasurer.
