50 FRESNO STATE COLLEGE Need)• st:udeuts with superior academic backgrounds, who are interested in teaching in public elementary or secondary school , and whose academic bncltground indjcaces a superior capacity or prcparnt i<m in science, mathematics, engineering, or a modern foreign language, should consider the benefits of this program. Inquiries should be directed to the Chairman, Committee on Scholarships and Loans, Fresno State College, Fresno 26, California. STATE AND FEDERAL AID TO VETERANS The office of the Dean of Students maintains liaison with the Veternns Administration and the Stnte Depanment of Veterans Affairs. The Veterans Counselor at the college assists veterans in conducting their affairs with these agencies. In order to enroll and obtain benefits under Public Law 550 (''Kotean" Gl Bill), a veteran must obtain a Certificate for Education and Training (VA Form 7-1993) {rom the Veterans Administration and pre.sent it to the Veterans Office at the time of registration. The college is also approved for the training of disabled Korean War veterans (Public Law 894) . Veterans who plan to attend the college on this program should notify thr. Veterans drninisrr:trion of rheir intentions to enter Fresno Sr~l· Cvlkge well in advance of rhe registration p eriod. Veterans planning to attend the college under benencs available from the State of Catifornia (Cal-Vet) must obtain the required authoriz:ttion each semester from the State Dep:trtment of Veterans Affairs, 700 Gapicol Avenue, Sacramento 14, California. STATE AID TO THE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED The Stare of California, through its Blueau of Vocational Rehabilitation, pxovides financial assistance to students, both civilian :\lid military, who have physical dis;tbiliries. Thi assistance equals the necess:u:y school expenses and m:w incluue an additional amount to help cover the cost of living. Students who may be cnricled to clus assistance should apply to the State Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, 424 N. Broadway, Fresno, California.
