To graduate with departmental honors a student must satisfactorily complete 9 units of departmental honors cou.rSes and 3 units of general college honors colloquia. A student desiring to gr3duate with general college or departmental honors must write a major paper concernccl with a topic relevant to one of his honors courses. During his last semester of honors work the studcnr must pass an oral examination on this paper and his honors course work. The subject matter and course titles of general college honors colloquia and departmental honors courses va1y from semester to semester. CAliFORNIA STATE COLLEGES INTERNATIONAL STUDY PROGRAMS State college students who qualify may participate: in imematioua[ study programs of the California State Colleges. Upper division and graduate students may undertake a full academic year at major instirntion ' of higher learning. in A~in, Europe, and Latin America. Academic work successfully completed at the cooperating universities abroad rnay be applied toward the degree requirements of state colleges with the approval of the students' major anviscrs and in accordance with college regulations. Detailed information may he obtained at the office of the Dean of Students or by writing to the Office of International Progr-ams, J(i00 Holloway Avenue, San Fnmcisco, Califmnia 94132. Each registration requires one or more papers and a written or oral examination on the student's return, pending which ~n Jn Progrcs.~ ' (IP) -grade will be recorded. FOREIGN STUDENTS Fresno State College regularly enrolls a signific~m number of student~ fro111 abroad. A special adviser is provided to assist them in making the most of their study, in chc nitcd St:ucs.
