BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE For the bachelor of artS degree a minimum of 124 semester units must be completed and must include at least 40 upper division units. Upper division courses taken before the student has earned 45 units may not be applied on this 40-unit requiJ:ement. The general degree requirements, general education requirements, and one major must be satisfactorily completed; see Degree Majors li"TI.d Minors. Units used to meet d1e general education requirements may not apply on the degree major. II a second concw:rent major is desired, courses acceptable lor satisfaction of general education rcquiJ:ements for the first major may be used co satisfy second major requirements. Electives may be used to fulfill or to apply on requirements for a credential or for one or more minors, or they rna)' be free electives selected wid1 help of an adviser. While a minor is not required for graduation, students are encouraged to study the minor offerings of the various departments and consult their advisers to detennine whether one or more minors would be an appropriate complement to their college programs. A graduating senior may request that the completion of any minor listed by a department be recorded on his transcript. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE For the bachelor of science degree, a minimum of 124 to 136 semester units depending on the major field must be completed.
