2002-2003 California State University, Fresno General Catalog 31 Digital Campus Digital Campus Resource Center McKee Fisk, Room 111 (559) 278-6892 http://www.csufresno.edu/digitalcampus/ The Digital Campus The Digital Campus aims to serve students from all walks of life by providing choices in learning styles to meet the changing needs of our society. In addition to serving students, the Digital Campus provides assistance to the faculty of Fresno State in creating and teaching online courses that are dynamic, interactive, and instructional. Whether here on campus or located remotely in the region or overseas, all enrolled students can participate in the Digital Campus experience by taking either partially Web-enhanced courses that supplement the tradi-tional classroom experience or completely Web-based courses in which only online attendance is required. Blackboard The Digital Campus online courses are brought to you through Black-board, a powerful Web-based e-Learning portal system. Students are able to have access to the Digital Campus with a single login at http:// blackboard.csufresno.edu/. Students have 24/7-access to Black-board in order to: • View or print syllabi and lecture notes • View video/audio provided by faculty • Engage in discussion boards with fellow students • Meet faculty and students in the Virtual Classroom • Submit assignments via the Digital Drop Box • Take quizzes and exams online • Check grades • Research vast Web resources Course Catalog To preview any of the more than 500 courses in the Digital Campus Course Catalog, go to http:// blackboard.csufresno.edu/ and click on the Course Catalog button. Courses listed are either partially Web-enhanced and fully Web-based. Most courses can be previewed as a guest by clicking the Preview button. Here to Help In the fall semester of 2001, more than half the student population participated in Digital Campus online courses (9,000 students). The Digital Campus provides training for students, faculty, and staff through workshops, consulta-tion, and drop-in assistance through the Digital Campus Resource Center located in McKee Fisk. The staff consists of instructional designers, trainers, and technology and produc-tion support assistants who are cheerful and ready to help in any way.
