Art and Design 152 2012-2013 California State University, Fresno General Catalog 4. No General Education course offered by the Department of Art and Design may be used to satisfy the General Education requirements for majors in the depart-ment. 5. A grade of C or higher in all graphic design coursework is necessary for suc-cessful completion of the major. Any course required as a prerequisite must be completed with a grade of C or bet-ter before registration in the subsequent course. Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Requirements The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design is a professional program providing directed studies and is designed for students seeking in-depth preparation for specialized educa-tional and career goals. The curriculum explores the many aspects of graphic design, including the physical, cognitive, social, and cultural human fac-tors. It will also explore theories, principles, and practice in relation to typography, il-lustration, computer graphics, Web design, motion graphics, history of graphic design, and creative critical visual thinking skills that are applicable to professional practice and to meet entrance requirements to graduate school.
