THE COLLEGE 23 STUDENT ABSENCES Students are expected to maintain regular attendance at classes. Extended absences (more than one week) due to illne , death in the immediate family, or other extraordinary emergencies, should be repli>cted immediately to the Counscling Office which will notify the faculty concerned. When any absence occurs, however, the student shouJd contact the instructors involved concerning the possibility of making up the work missed. STUDENT HOUSING College Residence Halls The college has three modern residence halls in operation. Homan Hall houses 208 men, and Graves and B:1lcer Halls e:~ch house 208 women. The hall are fireproof, air-conditioned buildings ha ving study rooms, lounges, recreation rooms, and laundry facilities. Students are housed rwo to a room. The rooms arc attr:lctivcly furnished, and provide adequate study and living facilities. Linen service is provided, but students -are required to furnish their own lllAnkets and towels. Food service i provided by the college cafeteria. For information on residence hall costs, see Fees ll'lld E:~pemes. Each baH is under the supervjsion of a well qualified head resident and six student assistantS. Srudeuts are encouraged to rake part in group living th ·ough experience in self-government and by taking part in the social and intrnmural programs. Women living in rhe ha.lls are required to observe the residence rules of the Associated Women Students. Further information and applications for reservations may be obtained by writing to the Student Housing Office. Students who a.re applying for accommodations in the hnlls muse also file an application for admission to the college. Conditional admission can usually be granted on the basis of a transcript of all college or h.igh school work completed to date. For further information on admissions sec Regulations and Procedures. Approved Off-Campus Housing for Women The Student Housing Office maimains a list of approved rooming and boarding houses whicl1 have been inspected and meet the college housing standards for women. vVomen living in approved housing will be required to observe the residence rules of the Associated Women Students. Arrangements for living accommodations should be made well in advance of registration. H women secure hm.tsing not on the approved lise, the parent or guardian will be asked to assume full responsibility.
