In 1968-69 the cooperating universities are: University of Aix--1\llarscillc, France; Free University of Berlin and University of Heidelberg, Germ:tny; University of Florence, Italy; Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan; Ur1iversir,y of Granada and University of Madrid, Spain; University of Stockholm and Unive1-sizy of Uppsala, Sweden; National University, Taiwan. Acadentic work successfuUy completed at the cooperating universities ab.ro_ad may be applied toward the degree requirements of the college in accordance with college regulations with a maximum of tbircy units for two semesters. A selection among applicar'lts from all California Stnte Colleges is made on the hAsis of academic, linguistic, and personal qualifications. The criteria are: (a) Upper division or graduate standing by the beginning of the academic year abroad; (b) Acadefllic achievement; (c) Proficiency in the language of instruction; (d) Faculty recommendations. Cost to the student includes round trip transportation from San Francisco to the host univenity, room and board for the academic year, and medical insurance. Incidental CKpenses, individual travel, etc., must be borne by the participant. In 1968-69 these cosrs arc: Taiwan, $1,770; France, Germany, Spain, S2,070; Italy, Japan, 2,170; Sweden, $2 370. Paymems may be scheduled tlu:oughout the year. Programs in Ttaly, Japan., Sweden, and Taiwan do not require previous linguistic prcpnr:uion· applicants for all other programs must demonstrate adequate facility iu lhc hngu:~ge of irutn1ction at thr. hmr nnivr.l'$1iry. Application for the 1969- 70 academic year should be made early in the fall semester I 968.
