Hogan (CDS~) , McKell (CYA), Sundsten (AgSH) Part-time: Clegg, Levy, Ziering The School of Soci:~l Work provides an undergraduate major in social welfare leading to the bachelor of arts degree, designed to provide preparation for graduate work, to prepare for beginning positions in social work, and to provide a broad education in liberal arrs. The school offers a rwo-ye~r gradu~t program of preparation leading ro the professional maSter of social work degree. Social w )fare courses at the Ulldcrgraduatt: level include integration of theoretical and applied materials with contributions from sociology, political science, cultural anthropology, economics, and psychology. Graduate social worlc courses are similarly integrated and include materials from medicine, psychiat,ry, and law, as well. Additionally, graduate social work courses include content unique ro social work, especiaJiy in methods, field instruction, and social welfare policy and services. The School of Social Work holds both undergraduate and graduate membership in the Council of Social Work Education, and irs two-year professional master of social work program is accredited by the Council. COOPERATING AGENCIES Several social agencies in the central San Joaquin VaJiey partlCJpate in the social welfare and social work training program by providing field experience and instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level. These include the Nonh Avenue Community Center, Valley Children's Hospital Child Guidance Clinic, Scare Department of Corrections, Youth Authority, International lnscirute, American Red Cross, Veterans Administration Regional Office, Mental Healtb Association of Fresno, Fresno County Department of Public Welfare, Social Service Divisions of Agnews State Hospital, rascadero State HospitoJ, Stockton State Hospital, and Porrervillc State Hospital, Kings County Schools, Sanra Barbara Counry Welfare Depattmcnr, Divi. ion of Protective ocial Services of the State Department of Social vVcliare, Fresno County Department of Mcnml Health Services, Paso Robles School for Boys, and Social Service Division of the United States Veterans' Administration Hospital. In addition, other agencies cobperate in the program.
