Art History In consultation with their major adviser, students with an Art History Emphasis will complete an additional 3-unit upper-division art history course from each of the following areas: • Renaissance, Baroque (ARTH 120 or 122 or 124 or 126) • Modern, Contemporary (ARTH 131 or 132 or 136) • World Art (ARTH 160 or 170 or 173 or 175) Art and Design upper-division electives (9 units) General Education requirements (51 units) Electives and remaining degree requirements (15-21 units*) (See Degree Requirements); may be used toward a double major or minor. Total (120 units) *This total indicates that a maximum of two courses (6 units) in G.E. Breadth C1 and G.E. Breadth E1 also may be applied to the art major. These courses include ARTH 10, 11; ART 20, 40, 50 (G.E. C1); and/or ART 13 (G.E. E1). Consult the department chair or faculty adviser for additional details. Advising Notes 1. CR/NC grading is only permitted in ART 198, Internship. 2. General Education and elective units may be used toward a double major or minor (see double major or departmental minor). Consult the appropriate department chair, program coordinator, or faculty adviser for further information. 3. No General Education Integration course offered by the Department of Art and Design may be used to satisfy the General Education requirements for majors in the department.
