19 REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES ADMISSION TO THE COLLEGE Requirements for admission to Fresno State College are in accordance with Title 5, Chapter 5, Subchapter 2 of the California Administrative Code as amended by the Boa~;d of Tnmee;s of the Califo.~:nia State Colleges on November 24, 1970. A prospective a.pplicant who is unsure of his status under these requixements is encouraged to consult a school or college counselo.~: 0.1: the college admissions office. Limitation of Enrollment Applkanrs for admission are notified that, puxsu11.nt to Section 40650 of Title 5 concerning limitation of eruollment, admission ~o Fresno State College docs not guarantee admission tO a major or to any coUISes required for that major. Although every effort will be made to notify students of majors which are at capacity, such notification cannot be guaxanteed. STATE APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR 1972-1973 All prospective students must_ file a completed application for admission within the appropriate filing period. The completed application includes the application form, the California State College Residence Questionnaire, and the nonxefundable application fee of $20.00. Each applicant may file only one application for any one term within the California State College system. The application should be obtained from, and filed with, the college of first choice. Second, third, and fourth choice campuses should be listed on the application. Initial Filing Period Fall Semester 197L _____ ····-- ------· November 1-30, 1971 Spring Semester 197L·--·--------· August 1-31, 1972 Space Reservations Late Filing Period Dec. 1-June 30, 1972 (or earlier if quotas axe filled) Sept. 1-Nov. 30, 1972 (or earlier if quotas arc filled) Initial Filing Period: All applications received during the initial filing pexiod will receive equ;~l considecation within the collcgd established enrollment categories and quotas, . regardless of the time and date they are received. pplicams who can be accommodated within enrollment quotas will receive confirmation of space reservation. Although the space reservation is not a statement of admission, it is a commitment on the parr of the co!Jegc to admit a student once cligibiJity has been determined. When the st\ldent receives notice _of the space reservation, he should initiate action to have transcripts of any college :md high school work sent to the state college where space has been reserved. The college will inform him of the number of copies of transcripts required, date.~ for submitt!_~ and where they should be sent. Applications of students who cannot be accommodated at their fixst cl1oice college will automatically be forwaxded to their second choice; if they cannot be accommodated the.rc, to theii third choice, and so on. Each college bas established procedures to consider qualified applicants who would be faced with an extreme hacdship if not admitted. Prospective hardship petitioners should contact the conce.med college regarding specific policies governing hardship admission. Late Filing Period: Colleges not filling eruolmcnt categories duxing the initial filing period wiiJ continue co accept applications during the late period until quotas arc filled. Enrollment priorities widlin the last period will be granted in chronological order of application receipt by the colleges.
