STUDENT PJo:llSONNEL SERVIC~:s 37 ALUMNI ASSOCIATION The Alumni Association has a program designed to advance the welfare of the college, to promote cmnmo11 imcrc. ts t)f its studenr. ~nd :tlumni, and to sct·ve as :1 lir~ison between rhc l'olkgc, ~lumni, :md tlu: community. ' l'hc sclf-tlin•ctl'tl group sponsors num~.:t·ous <~CLivicies during t.hc yeat·, provides sc.hol:J!Ship assi tance to students, and supports the development of the college. Membership is open to graduates and to any student who has attended one or more semesters at Fresno State College. Annual dues are $10; life memberships are $100. The Fresno State College Alumr1i Trust Council is a charitable organization which receives contributions from alumni and friends of the college. Funds received by the Trust Council are used co support scholarships and programs of the Association, and to promote the welfare of the college. ESTIMATE OF EXPENSES The basic expenses for attendance at Fresno State College for a year (two semesters) for smdents who Jive away from home will range from $1,500 to $2,000. These figures are exclusive of nonresidence mition fee, but include an estimate of Sllch personal items as clothes, laundry, and incidental expenditures. Students who live at home or share apartments with ot'her students and commute to the c.'lmpus are able to reduce t'hcir expenses considerably below the estimated figure. The cost oi board and room may also be reduced by cooperative living arrangements or part-time work in exchange for room and board. The residence ha.ll dining room and College Union coffee shop :tre open seven days per week The Roundup, on Barstow ncar Maple Avenue, provides snack bar service and sells products of the college farm. STUDENT HOUSING College Residence Halls he college can accommodate 1,258 students in the residence halls on campus. Three types of rooms are available: single, double, and suite. A suite consists of three regular double rooms plus a Jiving-study room and private bath. Rooms arc arrraccivcly furnished and provide pleasant study and living facilities. The halls also have special lounge areas, recreation rooms, smdy rooms, and laundry facilities. Linen service is provided, but studenrs must furnish their own blanlccts and towels. Food service is provided by the college cafeteria. Two board plans are available, allowing the resident to choose the One which meets his needs and budget. T he hall governments sponsor an extremely active and varied program of activities. Rcsidcms must agree to live in the halls for the cullege year.
