ADMISSION AS A FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN
Applicants who have had no college work after high school graduation will be
considered for admission under the following provision. Except as noted, results
of either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test
(ACT) arc required. Registration forms for either rest mny be obtained from high
school and commurllty college counselors, state college testing offices or direccly

table gives grade-point averages and rest scores which together combine to establish
eligibility.
ELIGIBILITY INDEX
The following chart is used in determining the eligibility of graduates of Califomia
high schools (or California legal residents) for freshman admission to a
state college. Grade-point averages are based on work completed in the last three
years of high school, exclusive of pllysical cd~1 cation :md military science. Scol'cs
shown <tre the SAT roral and the CT composite. Smdems wirh a given GPA
mllSt present the corresponding test score. Corwerscl}', scudcnrs with a given
CT or S T score muse present the corresponding GPA in order to be eligible.
The min.imum eligibility index is S T, 3072 and . CT, 741. The inde." is computed
eirh r h>' multiplying the grade-point average by 800 and adding it to the
total S T score, or multiplying the grade-point average by 200 and adding it to
10 times the composite ACT score.
