SEPTEMBER 20,1995 Lifestyles Rodeo club lassoes new life •#■ Bulldog rodeo club continues to thrive despite lack of funding by Kristi Brangle StaffWriler The Fresno State Bulldoggers Rodeo Club shows promise for survival. University funding for the cluf" was pulled two years ago hut. although lhe club has struggled since, it looks like it is finally on solid ground "We. lhe students and I. fought very hard to keep the school from shutting us down completely — and they did try. Our goal now is to improve the club and lo become more competitive with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and West Hills College in Coalinga." said Roy Kissee. rodeo club coach and CSUF student. Funding was pulled after Rick Karkula. the past coach, resigned to devote more time lo his family. His leaving lefl no one to light for the club. ' With increasing cut backs, this was another way for ihe agriculture department to cut ils budget.
