Page 6___________________________PIONEER___________________April 22, 1944 SILK SCREEN SHOP RECEIVES FULL-PAGE SPREAD WRITE-UP The Amache Silk Screen shop, featured in a full- page spread in the April edition of “Signs of the Times,"national advertisers Journal, is credited as being an important contri- bution to the remarkable achievement of the efficient war training program. Ac- companying photographs showed Miss Maida G. Camp- bell, supervisor of the center shop, at her work and one of the several screen processed posters made for the US Navy by the local group. The shop has been opera- ted for almost a year with a crew of forty-five nisei and was started at the re- quest of the Navy, which was in need of posters, charts and graphs for its training programs, con- tinued the article. The navy furnishes only material for this project with the workers receiving $16 a month. Twelve of the workers have already relocated on the strength of their train- ing and work in the center.
