NEW REGULATION PROHIBITS REFUND TO CINEMA FANS The movie department of the community activities division issued a state- ment that hereafter no more refunds--tickets or cash-- will be made. This step is necessary since many children are demanding re- funds upon the conclusion of the serial each night. The cinema section add- ed that anyone attempting to enter with an unauthor- ized movie pass will be punished . KAMPUS KANTEEN CHANGES SCENERY For the first time, the Kampus Kanteen, co-spon- sored by the Las Allegri- as and the Hi-Y, will be held at the high school gym Friday. If this change proves to be a success, this twice-a-week get-to- gether will be held at least once each week at the gym. LINDLEY,HALLIDAY RETURN FROM WRA STAFF CONFERENCE After attending a six- day project directors' con- ference in Washington DC, that discussed everything from project employment to project newspapers, James G. Lindley, project direc- tor, and Henry Halliday, assistant project director, returned to their desks yesterday morning. Both representatives attended the daily conclave with WRA Director Dillon S. Myer and his staff. During the course of their stay,Lindley and Hal- liday conferred with Sec- retary of Interior Harold L. Ickes and other high officials of his department. Local councilmen and block managers will hear full report of the confab later in the week. Or he may present his certificate of fitness directly to the project director upon his arrival and be admitted as a resi- dent without obtaining re- location officer's recom- mendation. Only requirement is the surrender of his leave card upon admission to the cen- ter. Hanson also added that the local leave office will not re-induct draft-ag e nisei who have relocated which means that they will be required to report to their nearest pre-induction physical examination sta- tion when called. CALL FOR WOMEN”CATSKINNERS” AS LABOR SHORTAGE FORESEEN Local project's farm division doesn't harbor any desire to get caught with its "plants down," so it is making an urgent plea for-of all things-woman tractor operators to forestall the impending labor problem this season when the boys "get caught in the draft." Farm land preparations are already behind schedule, bemoans Roy Nakatani, farm office manager, but despite obstacles lettuce, spinach, beets and radishes have been planted. Planting of dry onions and Irish pota- toes are in full swing, and other varieties will soon be transplanted from the hot beds. Nakatani stated that other centers have already hired woman tractor operators, so interested female evacuees are urged to register at the farm division or timekeepers office. RICHARD SHERMAN TO LEAVE FOR ARMY Another veteran member of the local appointed personnel, Richard C.Sher- man, property officer,pas- sed his pre-induction phy- sical examination on Feb. 22 and is scheduled to be inducted Feb. 27 at Fort Logan. Sherman, who will bid farewell to Amache Sat- urday, served as a CCC company commander at Little- ton, Colo., before joining the WRA staff. He stated: "After ap- proximately 14 months of service with the Granada relocation center, I can honestly say that I have greatly enjoyed my work and experiences at Amache.
