All-Star Cast Play Slated For Book Review Tomorrow "Miracle of the Dinube," by Maxwell Anderson, will be conducted In the form of reading rehearsals at tomorrow evening's book re- view, 7:30 o'clock, at the high school library accord- ing to William A. Easton, librarian. In the all-star cast of the play are faculty mem- bers Donald Drummond, Ed- mund Eakler,Samuel Gordon, Lowell Jackson, Melvin Mc- Govern, Herbert K. Walther and Miss Grace Lewis. Two "surprise pa c ka g e s" will be featured with drama- tizations by Dr. and Mrs. Enoch Dumas, Miss Meriel Groves, Lowell Jackson, Miss Patricia Sands and others. Music will be provided by the high school orches- tra under the direction of Charles Hinman. The public is cordially invited to at- tend. JOHNSON FETES BLOCK MANAGERS A dinner honoring the block managers was sponsored by W. Ray Johnson, assist- ant project director, last week at the local high school. Those present besides the managers were Project Director James G. Lindley, Donald S.Harbison and Hen- ry F. Halliday, assistant project directors, and Dr. Lloyd A. Garrison, super- intendent of education. Dinner was prepared and served by the homemaking class. Beginning a four-day run tomorrow night is "Spit- fire," a British produc- tion, starring Leslie Howard and David Niven. The gal- lant story of a heroic and unselfish man to whom Eng- land will, forever be in- debted- R. J. Mitchell, the engineer w h o designed the Spitfire, the plane that saved Britain's life in those grim days of Sept- ember, 1940. ‘NEIGHBOR REPUBLICS’ EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY An exhibit entitled "Our Neighbor Republics," spon- sored by the high school Spanish and general educa- tion classes, is on display in room 29 since Monday and will continue thru Saturday. The purpose of the ex- hibit is to help develop a sympathetic understand- ing for the people of South and Central America. The core of the display is a group of selected books on such subjects as history, biography,geography, econ- omics, poetry, folklore, science, art and archaeolo- gy. This is supplemented by maps , charts , photographs, pamphlets and relics. The exhibit will be open to the students thru Friday and to the adults of the community all day Saturday. A collection of "Canci- ones Tupicas" will be play- ed and yerba matte served. Miss Grace Good and Mel- vin P. MeGovern are the faculty sponsors. DISCHARGE PIN FOR SERVICEMEN ---continued from page 1--- honorably discharged or transferred to an inactive status" to the issue of the lapel button for honor- able service. A discharged or trans- ferred enlisted man entitled to wear this button and who wish to obtain same should make a written application to a designated Army instal- lation. Such application must be accompanied by his discharged certificate or certificate of service. Letter of application should be made in triplicate. The original and one copy should be forwarded and one copy retained as a record to safeguard the possible loss of his discharge certi- ficate or certificate of service. Information as to desig- nated Army installation for this center is not available at this time but it will be obtained by Walter J. Knodel, center Selective Service official, in the near future.
