September 11, 1943__________________PIONEER______________________Page 7 WOMEN AID HOUSECLEANING As their part in the wel- come program for the in- coming Tuleans, members of the Amache Women's federa- tion are helping the blocks in cleaning out empty units which will be occupied by the new residents. Mrs. Shizuko Kamiya, president of the federation, will represent the group at the "welcome" program to be held in the high school auditorium shortly after the Tuleans' arrival. Mrs. Alyce Ohama, federa- tion member,will speak for the Amache Red Cross chap- ter ._________________________ SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Young People's society of the Seventh-day Adventist church will be held Wednes- day evening in the 9H rec- reation hall. Community singing, and a sermonette will be feature- ed. The public is cordially invited. Y’s way Thanks to Harry Wakaya- ma, the Y now has a new bookshelf, and additional books are also available. A complete file of 1939 Fortune magazines have been received from the Denver YWCA and maybe checked out for week-long periods at a time . -Y- All Y Circle club, girls are urged to attend the meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Hospitality House. Reports Officer Joseph McClelland will speak to the girls and show his Kodachrome slides. Mademoiselles will be in charge. -Y- An invitation has been received from the Cheyenne Blue Triangle (B and I clubs) to attend their "round-up" conference Sept.18 and 19, in Cheyenne. The local Y plans to send at least four delegates. -Y- Y girls and friends Thursday night met at Hos- pitality House,in conjunct- tion with the recreation association, for a square - dance session in preparation for the agricultural fair. Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Grif- fith taught the girls var- ious types of square dances. YBA TO HOLD niEETIHG A special joint service of the YBA will be held at the 7G Buddhist church at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow. Rev. T. Shirakawa will deliver the sermon. Selections will be ren- dered by Misses Chiyeko and Lily Nagatoishi. The oshoko representatives are Chiyeko Nagatoishi and Ka- zuo Klyono. The choir will present a few numbers. SOCIAL Will Be Held The Christian Youth fellowship has been in- vited to a watermelon party to be held by the college- age group tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., at Amache bowl. A camp-fire social is planned. All fellowship members are to meet at Hospitality House at 7:30. SEICHO-NO - IYE "Truth of Life" will be Unosuke Karatsu’s topic at the Seicho-No-Iye meeting, 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, in the 9H recreation hall. AGATSUMA LEAVES TO ACCEPT WORK Rev. Takeo Agatsuma left Monday to accept an appointment for church work in Grand Junction and San Luis Valley. His home will be in Denver. DEDICATION SERVICE SLATED Tomorrow morning's Christ- ian church worship service will be in dedication to the altar, the cross, and candle-holders recently donated by the Episcopal church, through Bishop C.S. Reifsnider. The altar was designed by Shiro Abe and construct- ed by Mr. Wakayama of the recreation association. Rev. Lester E. Suzuki will speak on the topic, "What Is Your Altar?" The Granada Christian church issues a cordial in- vitation to all Caucasion teachers and administrative personnel members to attend the Sunday services. ADVENTISTS KIYABU TO SPEAK; MOVIE SCHEDULED The fourth meeting in the Third Evang e l i stic effort will be held in the 9H recreation hall, under the sponsorship of the Sev- enth-day Adventist church. Evangelist George Kiyabu will speak on the subject, "Why Doesn't God Kill The Devil?" Motion pictures of the news of the world will be shown.
