Page 8__________________PIONEER____________September 4, 1943 TWO WEDDINGS HELD THIS WEEK SHIMOZAWA-KURIMOTO Hatsuyo Shimozawa of 11 E-7C was married to John T. Kurimoto of Fort London, Penn., by Rev. R.L. Wells, in Syracuse,Kans., Monday. They were attended by the brides' parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Shimozawa, and the brother of the groom, James Kurimoto. A reception was held at the 11E Mess Hall. The baishakunins were Mr. and Mrs. S. Kawanaka, Mr. and Mrs. H. Kajiwara, and Mrs. T. Yokoi. The newly-weds are stay- ing in Denver for a few months. UDO-HAMAJI Mae Udo, of 11E-12C became the bride of George Hamaji of 12G-1E, Sunday night at the 12E recreation hall. Rev. George Yahiro per- formed the ceremony. Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Anna Udo, and the best man was Jim Hamaji,the bridegroom's brother. A reception was held after the ceremony in the 12E recreation hall. SOCIAL SCHEDULED BY TWO GR CLUBS The Wee Teeners-Junior- ettes social is scheduled for this evening at Hospi- tality House. The various committees and their chairmen include Jean Furuno and Rumi Tonai, refreshments; Grace Hara- tani and Lorraine Miyahara, invitations; Louise Sasano and Fumi Sotomura, clean- up; Grace Yamaguchi,music; May Miura and Louise Sasano, decorations; and Toshiko Sakamoto, finance. HUDSON TO SPEAK ON RESETTLEMENT A talk by Public Health Nurse Ruth Hudson on relo- cating nisei girls will be the feature of the meeting of the nine Y Circle clubs sponsored by the Valaines for Monday evening at Hos- pitality House. Hana Uno, secretary of the YWCA here, urges the attendance of girl friends of the Y circle members who have graduated high school. Shizu Nishinouchi, a Valaine, will preside. FAREWELL CONCERT TO BE HELD FOR HASCALL A farewell band concert will be presented in Terry hall Monday, 7:30 p.m. in honor of Tad Haseall, in- strumental music instructor for the Amache schools the past eight months. Hascal will shortly be inducted into the US Navy In addition to selections by the Amache school band, there will be entertain- ment by Nob Kuwatani's Music Makers. Junji Kumamoto was in charge of the activity. MAGAZINES DONATED TO YWCA LIBRARY Several issues of the "American Journal of Nurs- ing" have been donated to the YWCA library and are now available to center residents, announces Hisa- ko Wakayama, YWCA librarian. MANY POSITIONS OPEN AT HOSPITAL Due to relocation of present employees, several positions are open at the center hospital, according to L.Dakan, business mana- ger. Present openings are for two janitors, three bookkeepers and typists, and six tray girls. Appli- should be made as soon as possible to Dakan. Also, Chief Nurse Alma K.Folda states that severa- l nurses' aides are needed, either nisei or issei, the latter on a part-time basis if home duties prevent full- time service. Applications should be made immediately to Chief Nurse Folda. His topic will be "All Suffering." SERVICE CANCELLED Both the Buddhist Sunday school and YP service sched- uled for tomorrow morning have been cancelled. SUZUKI AT DENVER Rev. Lester Suzuki of the Granada Christian church left the center for Denver Wednesday to visit his wife and children.
