Said Click: “Sons of adventuresome Japanese who emigrated f r om the land of the Rising Sun in search of greater o- pportunity, these men have been educated in the schools and traditions of our coun- try and are grateful for their chance to serve in our Army." SKINNER, JACKSON ADDED TO FACULTY Alice Skinner has been added to the elementary school teaching staff and Lowell Jackson to the sec- ondary school faculty, according to Paul J. Terry, superintendent of education. Mrs. Skinner is formerly of San Antonio, Tex.,where she had a similar position. She reported for work yes- terday. Jackson, a science and mathematics instructor, is from Lakewood, Colo., where he was a high school teacher. Tad Hascall Is To Join Navy A farewell musical pro- gram was given in honor of Amache senior high music Instructor, Ted Hascall, at Terry hall Monday night. Musical numbers of both Japanese and American types were rendered. Selections by the Amache school band and Music Makers, plus o- dori and vocal solos high- lighted the evening. Hascall will terminate his duties at Amache sen- ior high school today and will leave for the US Navy shortly. Rustlings… FROM OTHER CENTERS HEART MOUNTAIN, Wyo… Four administrative of - ficials have solved the gas rationing problem by switch- ing from cars to horses. A shipment of 140,000 pounds of rice from Oakland, Calif., was received. Canning company in Cowly, Wyo., made contract to can center's surplus of green beans . Twelve - thousand pounds of the crop are ex- pected to be canned by this week. Approximately $74,000 will be distributed to the residents as patronage re- fund by Community Enter- prise. DENSON, Ark… Graduation exercises were held for 59 seniors Saturday night. The school annual, Vic- toria,made its appearance. ROHWER, Ark… As part of their war- time service program 125 girl scouts helped picked 500 pounds of cotton at a nearby cotton plantation. Center cannery is now under operation with a crew of 25 men. Tomatoes are being canned for winter. TULE LAKE, Calif... Ten blocks of barracks will be built to help accom- modate 10,279 incomers. Over $150 in prizes were given away at the raffle affair held for the three- day Labor Day program. The Scholarship Fund dance is being sponsored as one of the activities in raising money for the cen- ter's Student Scholarship. POSTON, Ariz... Construction of a dance pavilion to be used for dancing, roller skating, and tennis is now underway and is expected to be com- pleted within three weeks. KIYABU TO SPEAK "Is Japan's War Pro- phesied in the Bible?" will be the subject of Evangelist George Kiyabu's talk tomorrow in the 9H recreation hall, 7:30 p.m. Motion pictures on the China war will be shown following the lecture. The public is cordially invited to attend. POPULAR TEACHER GOES TO ILLINOIS Robert Dierlam, secondary school instructor,left the center last night for Bloom- ington, Ill., where he is to teach at the Illinois Wesleyan university. Secondary School Prin- cipal Herbert Walther says of Dierlam, "He was one of the most likable and talent- ed teachers on the whole staff. ROOMS REMODELED The junior high and el- ementary school classrooms in 8H block are now being remodeled. Rooms are being enlarged and a wooden floor has been laid in each room. FACULTY MEETS Members of the Amache schools' faculty met Mon- day morning at the high school and general plans for the year were made. Project Director James G. lindley and Assistant Project Directors Donald Harbison, Henry Halliday, and W. Ray Johnson were in- troduced to the new teach- ers. Members of the ad- visory school board also were present at the meet- ing and were introduced to the faculty. COACH IS NEEDED A physical education instructor with ability in all types of sports, (basket - ball, boxing, tumbling) is asked to report to Coach John Hoke at the senior high school immediately.
