Eighteen are taking the Officers' Basic course at the infantry school at Fort Benning, Ga.; two are ta- king the communications course at Fort Benning; and one is at the Army Medical center in Washing- ton, DC. Those enrolled in the Officers' Basic course at the Infantry school are 1st Lts. Yasutaka H. Fuku- shima, Bert N. Nishimura, Masayuki Kawasaki, Kiyoto Tsubaki, Herbert W. Yama- moto, Richard K. Betsui, Roy M. Hirano, Kanemi Ka- nazawa, Sadami Katahara, and Theodore T. Sueoka and 2ndLts. Chiyoki Ikeda, sa- buro Maehara, Walter M. Iwasa, Matsuhei H, Nishi- mura, Kaoru Akamatsu, Yaso Abe, Jitsuzo Chinen and Robert S. Taira. Second Lts. Edward M. Yoshimasu and F. K. Kodama are taking the Communica- tions course. First Lt. Katsumi Nakadate is at the Army Medical center. Second Lt. Ichiro Okada recently returned from the Bakers and Cooks’ school at Fort Benning. VACATION TRIP Kathleen Schiller, edu- cation secretary, left the center last night, for a two-weeks' vacation in Minnesota, where shewill visit her parents. TweIfth-grade students whose last name go through the letter "0" are re- quested to go to the aud- itorium on Monday at 9 a.m. The rest of the twelfth and eleventh grad- ers through the letter "J" will meet on Tuesday morn- ing at the same time. The remainder of the eleventh graders will take their test on Wednesday morning, also at the same time. Students who are work- ing and are unable to take the test will be given one soon after the fall semester begins. SAKIYO YAMAMOTO BECOMES BRIDE Sakiyo Yamamoto, for- merly of Winters, Calif., became the bride of Jiro Kawashima Sunday evening at 7H-3F. A reception was held at the 7K mess hall immediately following ceremonies. Shinichi Tsumori and Shozo Usui were the bai- shakunin. The couple are now re- siding at 7H-1D. HONOR STUDENTS HOLD BANQUET The Amache branch of the National Honor society held a semi-banquet at the Hospitality House, Monday evening. Acting as hostess for the occasion was Marion Konishi, president of the society. Honored guests of the affair were Herbert B. Walthers, high school principal, and two of the organization’s sponsors, Betty Beaver and Helen Wilcoxon. The junior members of the society acted as the general committee for the event, with Lily Nagatoishi as refreshment chairman. Sameshima Elected Vice Prexy At Palmer Lake Conference Akira Sameshima, one of the 12 Amache delegates to the summer conference of the Pine Crest institute at Palmer Lake, Colo., was elected vice president of the conference council. Six hundred young people from all parts of the state attended the annual week- long meet. Those from Amache in- cluded Ruth Takemura, Cowl Takao, Tom Nakashima, Bill Kashiwase, Arthur Shoji, Mary Noda, Tad Sugimoto, Yoshiko Sato, Ted Kinoshi- ta, George Hinoki, Joe Ka- miya, and Akira Sameshima. Reverend Lester Suzuki and Henry Suzukida accompanied the group. George Hinoki, Tom Na- kashima, Arthur Shoji, Tad Sugimoto, and Akira Same- shima are now attending a boys' conference sponsored by the Grace church of Den- ver at a camp near Denver, They are scheduled to stay there a week. FELLOWSHIP HOUR TO BE CONDUCTED A young peoples' fellow- ship hour will be held to- night at 8 o'clock at the 11H recreation hall, under the sponsorship of the Seventh -Day Adventists. Community singing and a short pep talk by Pastor George Kiyabu will be given.
